From Tetitlan, Guerrero you take a water taxi through a mangrove and lagoon to this remote sand spit occupied by fishermen and their families who also operate enramadas adjacent to their homes.
Just east of Parque Jaurez in San Miguel de Allende is a public courtyard where water flows through a series of basins and local women come to do their laundry.
San Miguel de Allende has many fine courtyard restaurants. The Patio Posada Carmina, across the street from the Parroquia, is one of my favorites. The food is good and the beers are "bien frio".
