"Lavender Labyrinth", Oil on Canvas Panel, 11"x14", plein air

The OSU Lavender Gardens had a terrific garden full of lavender. The varied trails between all the plants seemed like a labyrinth. The two entrances to the garden were both marked with a yellow rose.

If you hiked up to the top of the lavender field at English Lavender Farm, west of Applegate, Oregon, there were a couple of nice red chairs to rest in while taking in the terrific view.

Red y for Relaxation

"Red y for Relaxation", Oil on Canvas Panel, 9" x 12", plein air

If you drive up Thompson Creek Road from Applegate, Oregon just over seven miles, you will find   The English Lavender Garden. The Lavender is planted above the road in full view of the morning sun. This was painted the day before the Southern Oregon Lavender Festival. Derek told me they were delaying the harvest so that festival goers would be able to experience the impressiveness of their lavender bloom! Thanks Sue and Derek. If you haven't toured the lavender farms of the Applegate, I suggest that you do. Check their website http://www.englishlavenderfarm.com/.
